Taylor, Lapointe, Giuletti take home weekly awards
Corey Taylor (Binghamton) of the Herndon Braves has been named the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week for the week of June 22 to June 28. Taylor had the single most prolific offensive week in League history, going 14-for-28 with 16 RBI, 11 runs scored, a double, two triples, and six home runs. He hit safely in all six of Herndon's games. He also knocked in at least one run and scored at least one run in each game. Most impressively, Taylor homered in four straight games from June 23 to June 27, a League-record. The stretch included three home runs, a double, and seven RBI in one game, June 25 against the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts. Though Taylor's home run streak ended on Sunday, he finished the week by tripling twice against the College Park Bombers. Taylor's .500 on-base percentage for the week was dwarfed only by his 1.321 slugging percentage.

Ryan Lapointe (George Washington) of the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts and James Giuletti (Binghamton) of the Herndon Braves have been named the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League Co-Pitchers of the Week for the week of June 22 to June 28. Lapointe tossed a seven-inning shutout against the Maryland Redbirds on June 27. He scattered four hits and a walk and struck out a pair of hitters en route to his second win of the season. Giuletti tossed six shutout innings against the Commonwealth rival Alexandria Aces on June 26. The righthander allowed just three hits and a walk and struck out a season-high eight batters on the way to his first win of the year. After pitching six shutout innings in his previous start, Giuletti lowered his season ERA to 1.20 with Friday's win over the Aces.
