Parks, Love, and Rothenbuhler win weekly awards
Bethesda Big Train infielder Jarrod Parks (Mississippi State/Madison, Miss.) has been named the Player of the Week in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League for the week of July 5 to July 11. Parks went 8-for-18 (.444) on the week and scored a League-high six runs. He doubled, tripled, drove in five runs, and walked four times to just three strikeouts. Parks was also successful in his only stolen base attempt. Parks hit and scored at least one run in six of seven games for the week, collecting multi-hit games in three of them. He walked twice in the only game in which he did not have a base hit. Parks drove in three of his five runs for the week against the Rockville Express on July 10.

Big Train starter Cameron Love (San Francisco/San Diego, Ca.) and Southern Maryland Nationals starter Ryan Rothenbuhler (Findlay/Collegeville, Pa.) have been named the Co-Pitchers of the Week in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League for the week of July 5 through July 11. Love tossed a nine-inning shutout against the Express on July 10. He scattered three hits and did not walk a batter to get his third win of the season. Love struck out three batters and faced just three over the minimum. The shutout was his first complete game of the season.
Rothenbuhler started and went nine shutout innings against the Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts on July 8, but was no-decisioned because the game took 13 to complete. The righthander scattered five hits and did not allow a walk while striking out four.
