Most Numerous Team: Brevard County Manatees (3)
Several Ripken League alumni performed well in the Class-A Advanced Florida State League in 2010. Jeremy Farrell (Orioles '05) rebounded in 2010 to earn a spot on the League's Mid-Season All-Star Team, while Brian Dozier (Big Train '06) continued his steady progress and landed on the Post-Season All-Star Team.
Meanwhile, Scott Schneider (Big Train '08) was a Midwest League All-Star in 2010 before moving up and finishing strong in the FSL, and Chris Squires (Redbirds and Bombers '07) put together one of the better debut campaigns among 2010 draftees between the Rookie Gulf Coast League and the FSL.

Steve Braun │ Maryland │ Rockville Express '05
Signed: 2008 (Free Agent), Milwaukee Brewers
Current team: Brevard County Manatees
Braun collected 15 hits in 107 at-bats for the Brevard County Manatees of the Florida State League in 2010. He hit four doubles, drove in two runs and scored ten.
Braun went 9-for-34 (.265) in 12 games for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League in 2009. He hit three doubles, drove in four runs, and scored five. Braun walked five times to six strikeouts.
Braun went 14-for-80 in 25 games for the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League in 2008. He hit two doubles, a triple, and a home run, drove in six runs and scored eight. He walked four times and stole three bases in four attempts. Steve is the brother of Milwaukee Brewer Ryan Braun.
Brian Dozier │ Southern Miss │ Bethesda Big Train '06

Current team: Fort Myers Miracle
Dozier continued his steady rise through the professional ranks in 2010, posting similar numbers in stops with the Beloit Snappers of the Midwest League and Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League. With Beloit, Dozier hit .278/.347/.338 with 42 hits in 151 at-bats. He hit seven doubles and a triple, drove in 17 runs and scored 24 in 39 games before his promotion. Dozier made slight improvements in almost every stat category after his promotion and earned a spot on the FSL Post-Season All-Star Team. He collected 96 hits in 350 at-bats (.274) and improved his OPS from .685 to .706. Dozier hit 11 doubles, a triple, and five home runs for the Miracle. He scored 44 runs and drove in 42, and walked an impressive 44 times to just 41 strikeouts. Between both clubs, Dozier stole 16 bases in 21 attempts.
Dozier joined former Big Train teammate Ben Tootle in Elizabethton after five games with the Gulf Coast League Twins to start his professional career. He collected four singles in 14 at-bats for the GCL Twins before the promotion to Elizabethton, where he hit an impressive .353/.417/.431 in 53 games and earned a berth on the Appalachian League All-Star Team (his batting average and on-base percentage were both second-best in the league). Dozier collected 77 base-hits (second most in the league), 17 of which were doubles. He drove in 14 runs and scored 38 while walking 23 times to just 26 strikeouts. He was also successful on all three of his stolen base attempts for Elizabethton. Baseball America tabbed Dozier as an Appy League All-Star and one to ''Keep an Eye On'' in the Twins organization in its October 2009 issue.
Jeremy Farrell │ Virginia │ Youse's Orioles '05

Farrell bounced back from a disappointing 2009 season by hitting .301/.373/.495 between two stops in 2010 and earning a spot on the Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star Team. Farrell played just four games for the Pirates of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League before earning a promotion to the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League. He collected five hits in 14 at-bats for the Pirates, including a double and a home run. For the Marauders, Farrell hit 25 doubles and nine home runs, drove in 43 runs and scored 39. He walked 23 times and struck out 57, and stole six bases in eight attempts.
Farrell appeared in 73 games for the West Virginia Power of the South Atlantic League in 2009 before his season was cut short by injury. He collected 67 hits, including 13 doubles, a triple, and five home runs, and drove in 39 runs while scoring 42. Farrell walked 30 times and struck out 71.
Farrell hit .287/.351/.381 for the State College Spikes of the New York-Penn League in 2008. He collected 58 hits, including 12 doubles, two triples, and a home run. The third baseman drove in 23 runs and scored 23, while walking 20 times and stealing two bases.
Pete Fatse │ Connecticut │ Rockville Express '07

Fatse showed flashes of his potential in 2010, collecting 18 multi-base hits in 38 hits overall for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League before earning a promotion to the Brevard County Manatees of the Florida State League. He had nine doubles, six triples, and three home runs for the Rattlers, drove in 31 runs and scored 27. His batting improved from .212 to .250 after the promotion, but his slugging percentage fell from .380 to .303. Seven of his 33 hits for Brevard County were doubles, but he did not collect a triple or home run in 41 games. Fatse drove in 13 runs and scored 16 for the Manatees. Between the two clubs, Fatse stole 14 bases in 17 attempts.
Fatse made a brief stop with former Ripken Leaguer Scott Krieger and the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League before moving on to the Timber Rattlers of the Midwest League. For Wisconsin, Fatse collected 50 hits in 212 at-bats (.236) with nine doubles, five triples, and a home run. He drove in 14 runs and scored 22, walking 28 times to 65 strikeouts. Fatse stole five bases in 10 attempts for the Timber Rattlers.
Scott Krieger │ George Mason │ Youse's Orioles '06
Drafted: 2009 (Round 19, Overall Pick 586), Milwaukee Brewers

Krieger hit ten home runs in 69 games for the Brevard County Manatees of the Class-A Advanced Florida State League in 2010 and earned a brief trip to the Class-AA Southern League. For Brevard County, Krieger hit .239/.298/.419 with eight doubles and two triples to go along with the ten homers. He drove in 31 runs and scored 27. Krieger walked just 16 times to 85 strikeouts, but was successful on all four of his stolen-base attempts. For the Hudson Valley Renegades of the Southern League, Krieger went 3-for-17 in eight games with a double and a home run.
Krieger lived up to his reputation as a power-hitter in his first professional season with the Helena Brewers in 2009, blasting 13 home runs and driving in 53 runs in 277 at-bats. Of his 70 hits, 32 went for extra-bases, with 16 doubles and three triples in addition to his home runs. Krieger scored 41 runs, walked 21 times, and stole nine of 11 bases. He struck out 103 times, including 17 in his last 10 games. Krieger finished the season on a high-note, collecting three doubles in six at-bats in his final game on September 11.
Justin McClanahan │ Louisville │ Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts '05; Youse's Orioles '06
Drafted: 2008 (Round 33, Overall Pick 999), Toronto Blue Jays

McClanahan hit .261/.323/.422 for the Dunedin Blue Jays in 2010. Thirteen of his 55 hits were doubles, to go along with three doubles and five home runs. McClanahan drove in 26 runs and scored 30. He walked 14 times and struck out 60, and was successful in half of his six stolen-base attempts.
McClanahan spent the 2009 season with the Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League, where he collected exactly 100 hits in 383 at-bats, including 20 doubles, a triple, and 13 home runs. McClanahan drove in 55 runs and scored 61 in 109 games. He walked 25 times to 113 strikeouts, and stole 11 bases in 18 attempts.
The 2005 MVP of the Cal Ripken, Sr. League, McClanahan began his professional career by hitting .282/.356/.503 for the Rookie-Level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays in 2008. He collected 46 hits, including eight doubles, two triples, and eight home runs, drove in 32 runs and scored 33 of his own. McClanahan walked 16 times and stole 17 bases for the Blue Jays.
Scott Schneider │ St. Mary's (CA) │ Bethesda Big Train '08

Schneider was a Mid-Season All-Star for the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League before earning a promotion to the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League, where he performed equally well. Schneider went 5-2, 3.11 in eight starts and six relief appearances for Quad Cities and was the Cardinals organization Pitcher of the Month for April. He tossed a complete game as a starter and collected two saves as a reliever. In 63.2 innings, Schneider struck out 65 batters and walked just 18 for the River Bandits. He allowed 25 runs (22 earned) on 40 hits, including three home runs. Midwest League opponents hit just .175 off of him in 2010. For Palm Beach, Schneider went 3-7, 3.77 in 13 starts, including one complete game. He struck out 50 batters and walked 22 in 74 innings and allowed 31 runs on 77 hits, including five home runs. His complete game came in his final start of the season, and he allowed a run on five hits and just one walk while striking out eight batters in that game to get the win.
Schneider began his pro career in 2009 with the Batavia Muckdogs of the New York-Penn League before earning a call-up to the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Midwest League. Schneider went 2-0 with a save in five starts and seven relief appearances for Batavia. He allowed just four earned runs in 39.1 innings (0.92) and struck out 47 batters to just eight walks. Schneider acquitted himself well against the tougher competition of the Midwest League, going 1-3, 3.45 in five starts. He allowed 12 earned runs on 26 hits and just five walks and struck out 29 batters while holding opposing hitters to a .218 batting average. The righty tossed a seven-inning complete game on August 24, striking out eight batters in that game. That performance followed a nine strikeout outing in his previous start. Schneider did not walk a batter in either of those games.
Michael Sheridan │ William & Mary │ Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts '05

Sheridan played all of the 2010 season for the Charlotte StoneCrabs, hitting .250/.317/.328. He collected 102 hits, including 17 doubles, three triples, and three home runs. He drove in 42 runs and scored 39. Sheridan showed tremendous plate discipline, walking 38 times to 39 strikeouts. He was successful in three of five stolen-base attempts. He was Player of the Week in the Florida State League the week of August 16. That honor came amidst his best month of 2010, in which he hit .303/.385/.427 with eight doubles and a home run.
Sheridan went 105-for-442 (.238) for the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Midwest League in 2009. He hit 16 doubles, five triples, and 14 home runs. He drove in 57 runs and scored 51. Sheridan showed strong plate discipline throughout the season, walking 26 times to just 38 strikeouts. He stole four of six bases. Sheridan finished the season on a four-game hitting streak, going 7-for-13 over that stretch with two doubles, a triple, four RBI and three runs scored.
Despite an injury, Sheridan was productive for the Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Penn League in 2008. The first-baseman hit .321/.354/.436 with 25 hits in 78 at-bats, including five doubles and two triples. Sheridan drove in five runs and scored 14. He also stole a base.
Chris Squires │ Indiana │ Maryland Redbirds '07, College Park Bombers '07
Drafted: 2010 (Round 37, Overall Pick 1127), Florida Marlins
Current team: Jupiter Hammerheads
Squires moved quickly in his first professional season in 2010. After appearing in five games for the GCL Marlins and not allowing an earned run, Squires then appeared in one game for the Jamestown Jammers of the New York-Penn League before moving on to the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Class-A Advanced Florida State League. There, Squires went 1-1, 1.08 in eight relief appearances. All told, Squires allowed eight runs (only three earned) on 26 hits and eight walks with 28 strikeouts in 23.1 innings.
