Chris Duffy (Big Train '08) headlined a large contingent of Ripken League alumni in the Rookie Gulf Coast League after a stellar collegiate campaign at Central Florida in 2010. Duffy earned GCL Post-Season All-Star and Baseball America GCL All-Star honors after hitting 12 doubles and six home runs for the GCL Phillies this summer.

Drafted: 2010 (Round 36, Overall Pick 1101), Philadelphia Phillies
Current team: GCL Phillies

Davis appeared in three games for the GCL Phillies after being drafted in the 36th Round in 2010. He allowed four runs on six hits and three walks and struck out four batters in four combined innings.



Chris Duffy │ Central Florida │ Bethesda Big Train '08
Drafted: 2010 (Round 26, Overall Pick 801), Philadelphia Phillies
Current team: GCL Phillies

Duffy played well in 47 games with the GCL Phillies of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League after being drafted in the 26th Round of the 2010 MLB Draft. Duffy hit .272/.384/.450 with 46 hits, including 12 doubles and six home runs en route to GCL Post-Season All-Star honors (he was also named a GCL All-Star by Baseball America). He drove in 32 runs and scored 29. Duffy also posted a respectable 29:40 walk-to-strikeout ratio.



Ricky Martinez │ Florida International │ Rockville Express '10
Signed: 2010 (Free Agent), St. Louis Cardinals
Current team: GCL Cardinals

Martinez signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as an undrafted free agent shortly after reporting to the Rockville Express in 2010. He headed to the Gulf Coast League and performed well, going 3-0, 2.25 in 19 relief appearances. Martinez allowed seven runs on 23 hits and four walks, with nine strikeouts in 28 innings. Opponents hit just .228 off of him, and he did not allow a run in any of his last five appearances.



Jeremiah Meiners │ Francis Marion │ Silver Spring-Takoma T-Bolts '06-'07
Drafted: 2010 (Round 40, Overall Pick 1203), Houston Astros
Current team: GCL Astros

Meiners went 1-2, 6.95 with a save in 16 relief appearances for the GCL Astros after being drafted in 2010. He struck out 19 batters in 22 innings, and allowed 21 runs (17 earned) on 28 hits and eight walks.



Conor Mullee │ St. Peter's │ Herndon Braves '08-'09
Drafted: 2010 (Round 24, Overall Pick 745), New York Yankees
Current team: GCL Yankees

A star shortstop for the Herndon Braves in the Ripken League, Mullee was drafted by the Yankees as a pitcher, and he impressed in his opening stint with the GCL Yankees of the Gulf Coast League. Mullee went 2-1, 1.64 with a save in 14 appearances. He struck out 20 batters in 22 innings and walked just six. Mullee allowed nine runs (four earned) on 19 hits and did not allow a home run.



Matt Parker │ San Diego State │ Maryland Redbirds '07
Signed: 2010 (Free Agent), Minnesota Twins
Current team: GCL Twins

Signed as a non-drafted free agent, the former Ripken League All-Star Parker hit .225/.309/.239 in the Gulf Coast League. He played 23 games, going 16-for-71 with a double, six RBI, and eight runs scored. Parker showed solid plate discipline, striking out just 12 times and walking eight. He hit in seven consecutive games from July 27 to August 14.



Alex Pepe │ Florida Atlantic │ Bethesda Big Train '06
Drafted: 2009 (Round 36, Overall Pick 1074), Toronto Blue Jays
Current team: GCL Blue Jays

Pepe went 1-0 in 13 relief appearances for the GCL Blue Jays in 2010. He allowed 19 runs (14 earned) on 14 hits and nine walks in 12 innings and struck out 11 batters. Pepe did not allow a run in either of his final two appearances of the season.

Pepe made one start and 12 relief appearances for the Blue Jays of the Gulf Coast League and went 1-3, 2.55 with 22 strikeouts to just 10 walks in 17.2 innings. He allowed six runs (five earned) on 12 hits and held opponents to a .203 batting average.
