Celenza named a D3 Preseason All-American

Mike Celenza (Salisbury/College Park Bombers 2007-08, Bethesda Big Train 2009) has been named a Preseason All-American by D3Baseball.com for the 2010 college baseball season. The all-time leading hitter in the Ripken League, Celenza holds the League record for single-season batting average (.412 in 2008). He won the League MVP award that year after earning a spot on the All-League Team the year before. After donning the green uniform of Bethesda in 2009, Celenza went on to win the League Championship Series co-MVP award that season. The corner infielder has also been named a Division III Player to Watch in 2010 by Baseball America.

Celenza's Salisbury teammate Kyle Judson (Salisbury/College Park Bombers 2009) also made the preseason list as an Honorable Mention. Judson went 2-1, 3.03 for the Bombers in four starts and five relief appearances. He struck out 20 batters in 35.2 innings and was named to the Cal Ripken League All-Star Team.
