Landry Makes Sportscenter Top Plays

Leon Landry (LSU/Youse's Maryland Orioles 2008) earned a spot in Sportscenter's Top Plays on Sunday for his wall-climbing catch against UC-Irvine in the fifth inning of the first game of the best-of-three Super-Regional. The drive came off the bat of Anteaters' designated hitter Tony Asaro.
Landry and LSU face Ben Orloff (Rockville Express 2008) and UC-Irvine one more time on Monday night (7 pm, ESPNU) to determine the penultimate entry in the 8-team NCAA College World Series.
The College World Series begins June 14 and will feature either LSU or UC-Irvine, Carlos Gutierrez (Bethesda Big Train 2005) and Miami, Justin Grimm (Youse's Maryland Orioles 2007) and Georgia, Will Krasne (Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts 2006) and Stanford, Florida State, North Carolina, Rice, and the winner of Fresno State vs. Arizona State.
