4 CRSCBL alumni are top high school players in their States

Four Cal Ripken, Sr. League alumni were named the 2008 High School Players of the Year for their respective States by Louisville Slugger and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Derrik Gibson (Seaford (DE) HS/Youse's Orioles 2007-2008) was the 2008 High School Player of the Year for the State of Delaware. Gibson had 43 hits for Seaford High School in 2008, including seven doubles, five triples, and six home runs. He drove in 27 runs and scored 43. Gibson also stole 14 bases. The infielder was drafted in the second round by the Boston Red Sox in the June MLB Draft and signed a pro contract.
Kevin Brady (Gaithersburg (MD) HS/Youse's Orioles 2008) was the 2008 High School Player of the Year for the State of Maryland. Brady went 7-0, 0.29 for Gaithersburg High School in 2008. He struck out 98 batters in 48 innings and walked just eight. He allowed only 13 hits all season. Brady was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 44th round of the June MLB Draft. He will pitch for Clemson University next spring.
Jerome (LJ) Hoes (St. John's (DC) CHS/Youse's Orioles 2007) was the 2008 High School Player of the Year for the District of Columbia. Hoes collected 44 hits for St. John's College High School in 2008. He had nine doubles, two triples, and eight home runs, and drove in 29 runs while scoring 44 of his own. Hoes stole 32 bases. The Top Prospect in the Cal Ripken, Sr. League in 2007, Hoes was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the June MLB Draft and signed a pro contract.
Quinton Miller (Shawnee (NJ) HS/Youse's Orioles 2008) was the 2008 High School Player of the Year for the State of New Jersey. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 20th Round of the June MLB Draft and signed a pro contract.
