Two Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball alums will return to Maryland with fresh accolades in 2006: Alex Udwari (Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts 2005-2006), an outfielder for Belmont Abbey College, has been named to the 2006 Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team. Tommy Herrmann (Maryland Redbirds 2005-2006), a speedy infielder at Ursinus College, earned 2006 All-Centennial Conference Second Team honors.

Udwari, a native of Silver Spring (Blake HS), leads the Crusaders in four offensive categories to date in 2006: batting average (.391), at-bats (238), hits (93), and RBI (55). He is second on the team in runs scored (50) and home runs (9). Udwari's 93 hits is the most of any Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League alum in 2006.

Herrmann, a native of Cockeysville (St. Paul's School), has posted a .315 batting average and leads the Bears with 39 hits and 25 stolen bases.

Both players will return to their respective CRSCBL teams in 2006.
