Robert on Wallace Award Watch List

Former Orioles pitcher is finalist for national award

Bernard Robert (Youse's Maryland Orioles 2005) has been named to the watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award, presented annualy to the nation's top college baseball player. Robert, a junior starting pitcher for the University of Alabama, was named the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League's Most Outstanding Pitcher in 2005.

Robert was 6-0 with a 0.68 ERA for the Orioles. He allowed just three earned runs in 40 innings and struck out 29. He also led the Orioles to their third straight All-American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) National Championship in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where he earned tournament MVP honors.
